Pocono Downs was acquired in 2005 by Mohegan Sun and along with the purchase came a gaming license for which Mohegan Sun built a casino that houses more than 2,500 slot machines for slot machine lovers. Most recently, in January 2010, the Governor of Pennsylvania signed a law allowing the introduction of board games into Pennsylvania, of which Mohegan Sun was the first to have their facility approved to install popular board games.
While the casino does not offer hotel accommodation, many places to stay can be found in close proximity to the casino, allowing you to get to and from the casino easily, as well as visit other areas of interest outside of the casino property, including the shopping malls with all your favorite retail stores and various places to eat.
