Home remedy for cat urine smell

If your cat looks anything like my cat Jessy when we first got it, you are probably suffering from a cat problem. That is, your cat has decided to use her favorite floor or furniture as a litter tray and you are looking for a home remedy for cat urine smell.

There is something very different about the smell of cat urine. It is very powerful and you immediately know when you enter a room if a cat has urinated. Unfortunately for you, if not treated properly, the odor can linger for weeks. This is unsanitary and very embarrassing when friends come over!

Fortunately, there are some home remedies for cat urine that will work in the short term to eliminate the stench. Before trying any home remedy, you should soak up as much urine as possible to make sure it doesn’t seep and penetrate deep into carpet, concrete, or furniture.

A commonly used home remedy is to place an onion on the affected area. The onion will absorb the odors, leaving no onion smell. Another option is to apply a wedged mouthwash, be careful not to stain or ruin carpets or furniture with this method. Another option some cat owners use is to mix carbonated soda or baking soda with a touch of vinegar to clean and mask the odor. Again be careful with stains.

Home remedies can work well to remove cat urine stains and smell. Everyone has different ideas of what works, so you will have to try it yourself. Although the

The home remedies above may work temporarily, they do not address the problem path: why is your cat urinating in your home rather than in the litter tray or backyard.

I found a cat urine solution that didn’t remove Jessy’s cat urine odors, but it did clean up stubborn stains and provided the answers to keep Jessy from urinating in the house.
