my role model forever

I teach that I have found a leader forever who has gone as far as anyone can go in these five areas: love, truth, power, justice and hope. My hero died speaking forgiveness to his enemies. That is the love that endured. His critics were speechless after he asked them questions that caught them instead of him. That proves he knew how to handle Truth. He walked on water, raised the dead and promised forgiveness and gave it often. That requires power. His plan to offer freedom was fair because the rich and the poor have to enter in his favor through the same essence: faith; not money, education, or some other force. Justice breathes. And my role model has created a long-term yearning in me because of all the promises he has already kept. That creates hope in me that he will still keep the additional promises he has made. I exalt Jesus of Nazareth, the Lamb of God.

The living example of this Jesus is wonderful in itself. But there is more: he has interpreted his actions and explained many of his thoughts. He predicted events and things happened as he said over and over again. He had a control over eternity that allowed him to endure a terrible crucifixion. He conquered death with his resurrection to show us that Life is after life. Witnesses saw him for the last time, ascending into the clouds. His words still resonate in the world: “I will return so that you are where I am.”

Is this story true? How can you know unless you try it with all your heart, mind and will? Jesus is close enough to be found but far enough away that we are not paralyzed with fear as his disciples were when his light was too bright.

I support myself and follow this Jesus because I cannot find a better person. His people speak of his book with the help of his Spirit and long to experience and inherit His full kingdom of God. You are coming too! You’re invited!

I finally learned that I love to teach, preach and SING Bible truths. The ultimate truth is portrayed in the most printed book in the world. Not best selling because it is given away so often. My great search for the Ultimate Truth led me to remember that Christ said: “I am the Truth.” So I moved our family to the grandparents while I was attending seminary. My wife accompanied me in the hope that I would get this idea of the preacher out of my system. But she concluded: “It didn’t work out that way. He got deeper and deeper.” We eventually became so far apart that the divorce ruined our home. If I had been more Christian in considering his asthma and his need for my teaching salary, I would have continued teaching.

I had the inheritances to make up for the lack of income and at 70 I have already received two and I long to hear Jesus say to me: “Come, INHERIT the kingdom of God.” Until then, I hope to lead others to find meaning in their lives by shining the light of Christ’s life, the rescue and help of the Holy Spirit wherever I go. I have not found another leader who promises FORGIVENESS for impurity so that we can live better with our neighbors and ultimately with God. God’s revelation declares that doing the little things of visiting the sick, clothing the needy, ministering to the prisoner, and helping the stranger will be recognized on Judgment Day. Meaning comes into our lives when we help another person find meaning in theirs.
