Using apps to learn a new language

Hello everyone!

This article is a product review only. I found a useful app that I want to share with others. This article is intended to be informational only.

One of my lifelong goals is to learn languages, however, with the hectic of everyday life, how can I find the time to spend hours studying a language?

Well modern technology has solved this problem with amazing smartphones, tablets and apps.

I found this completely free app called Duolingo, which is ad-free and just amazing!

This app claims that it is scientifically proven that someone can learn a language at a solid level in just a couple of months, spending half an hour each day! Easy, if you’re like me, stuck on the bus every morning and evening to and from work.

Duolingo lessons are short and to the point, with assistance every step of the way. It’s clean and clear and just a joy to use.

It also offers a multitude of different languages that can be accessed by everyone, from beginners to people who want to improve their language skills.

Learning a new language does wonders for the brain: it’s like an intensive brain workout every morning, and it can break the monotony of your workday activities.

I look forward to passing each lesson every day and the app allows you to track your progress which is very encouraging. The app also allows you to add your friends so everyone can get motivated and share their progress.

Lessons range from speech recognition and pronunciation to visual cues, word matching, etc. It’s so simple and easy, and you progress through stages that build on previous lessons. I really liked the fact that it reminds you to go back and review previous lessons to make sure you don’t forget the basics. Very smart.

By completing each module, you earn points, called “ingots”, which you can spend to unlock additional content, such as “sayings”, “idioms”, and “learn to flirt”. These were a nice benefit and an interesting addition.

Plus, you can create a universal login, which stores your progress regardless of whether you’re using multiple platforms: so if I use my phone on the bus and then want to continue on my iPad at home, it keeps my progress so I don’t have to repeat nothing.

Obviously I can’t speak highly enough about this app! It is a very complete system, with a nice interface and no glitches or bugs (that I could see). I am very impressed and I hope many more will join me in this app!

Visit their website or find their app on the App or Play Store today and enjoy the benefits! I’m already on a four day learning streak and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!

thanks a thousand!
