A short guide to SEO marketing

Using SEO is one of the best ways to make sure your website shows up in search engine results because if someone is looking for a site like yours, you want to make sure they find it.

But it’s not good to appear in search engine results if you appear on page 100, or even worse, page 500 because no one looks at these pages.

At most, people only look at the first 2-3 pages.

So how can you ensure that your web pages appear on these first pages of results?

It would be easy to think that you need to find the most popular keywords with the most searches each month.

Mistaken.

Doing that would make it almost impossible for you to succeed because there are already thousands of other marketers using them and because their web pages have been around longer than yours, they are already generating a lot of traffic and therefore your popularity is already loving them. to the top of the results.

So if you want your web pages to appear on the first pages of search results, here’s what to do.

Find long tail keywords. These are words that are more specific to what you are selling and is usually a 3-4 word phrase. For example, if you are trying to sell a sofa, there will be a lot of competition for that word. So you could use a more exact phrase like “Antique Queen Ann Sofa” instead. While such exact wording will generate fewer searches, they will be more specific and tailored to the people most likely to make a purchase.

Aim for moderate to small competition. In addition to using long-tail keywords, also look for phrases that have little or even no competition. This will help ensure that your web page appears at or near the top of search engine results. For example, if there are only 8 other sellers using your exact phrase and search engines return 10 results per page, then your page should be on the first page of results.

See what keywords your competition is using. It is always a good idea to check with your competition to see what other keywords they are using and the content they are using to attract more customers.

To help you find keywords, you can use Google’s free Keyword Planner, which you can find by going to the Google home page and clicking on “Advertising”. That will lead you to open an AdWords account so you can use their keyword software.

And while you won’t get many visitors to your site using long-tail keywords, isn’t it better to be on the first page in front of some highly targeted prospects, and then end up on page 100 of the generic web? surfers who will never see your website link anyway?
