Are you too fat to wear a corset?

Are you too fat to wear a corset? Believe it or not, I get asked this a lot, and as you can imagine, there can be controversy surrounding that question. But my answer is simple, you are not too fat or too big to wear a corset. Plus size corsets are all the rage and in my opinion that’s the way they should be!

I personally hate the words fat and skinny, I feel they are quite offensive and unnecessary. But that’s an entirely different article, so I’ll stick with the question at hand for now.

Why can’t women of any size wear a corset? Why should society make them feel that just because some are bigger and others much smaller than what is considered an average sized lady, they can’t go out in a stunning corset and feel amazing? Because this world is one big gigantic place of judgement, materialistic and I think it’s pretty unfair. You wouldn’t walk up to someone and tell them they’re too ugly to buy that corset, so why say they’re too fat?

Trust also plays a huge role in this. Women shouldn’t care how others see them and what their opinions are about what they might want to wear. As long as a woman wears a good supportive steel frame corset, either an underbust corset or an overbust corset and not some cheap £10 eBay creation, then she would look amazing. A steel frame corset will give you the grip your curves need to shape and support them. A good steel boned corset will be made of double layered fabric and have a minimum of 12 steel bones running evenly through it.

The same is recommended for large-chested ladies. If you are petite but still have a large bust, then you will need a corset with overbust support and a steel boned corset will give you that. I am a 36E cup and a waist size 10 and only wear steel boned corsets. Cheap plastic boned corsets usually misshapen around my bust, so imagine how they would look on a size 22 woman. Not good. But a steel boned corset will shape that size 22, smooth her figure, and pull it up to 4-5 inches. One of my friends is a size 26 and oozes confidence, she wears overbust corsets and has men falling at her feet! She just goes to show that size really doesn’t matter and those who think it does are narrow minded. Every good company should have a range of plus size corsets, go find your perfect corset.

Dig deep and find your confidence, ladies, and wear that corset you’ve got your eye on.
