The Flying Monkey Delta family of planes have been a mainstay in the paintball scene for many years, and for good reason. They offer exceptional quality for a reasonable price and add a unique flair to any pilot’s appearance. In addition to the great flight characteristics of the Flying Monkey Delta models, they also make for some very unique paintball equipment. With the introduction of the “G force” line, there was a new Delta mechanic who stepped forward with a new range of paintballs. The “G force” series brought some radical design changes to the line, such as the removal of the standard rubber firing tips. This meant that the tips could now be made out of carbon or fiberglass, giving the balls longer ranges and better dispersion patterns. The result was a more accurate paintball shot and the ability to hit more targets at longer distances. It also meant increased ball speed and better overall flight characteristics.
The most radical move came with the “Black Tiger” line. Using a version of a Jaguar helicopter, the Black Tigers offered extreme increased maneuverability and durability. The main advantage was the increased speed: up to a hundred percent faster than the original Black Tiger paintball gun. The Black Tigers were a huge hit, and quickly sold out. However, in the new eight years, production of these guns would resume, and a second wave of these guns was released.
History of the Flying Monkey Delta
Just like the “G force” line, the “Black Tiger” introduced a couple of new features. One was a muzzle break, which greatly increased the distance the BB would travel. The second was a retractable firing pin, which meant that the operator could easily disassemble the gun and take it with them. Both of these innovative guns were able to shoot over fifty miles per hour and provided years of use and enjoyment by users all across the world. These guns would prove highly popular amongst war veterans and law enforcement alike.
A third paintball marker was introduced around the same time as the Black Tiger. This model featured the same type of capabilities and speed of the Black Tiger, but at a cheaper price. The Airspeed II was priced much lower, and its key feature was an internal rotating mechanism. This mechanism allowed the marker to fire multiple shots in a row, increasing the probability of hitting your opponent. While this model did not use the break distance of the Black Tiger, it was still a vast improvement over the other models available at the time. Airspeed models were extremely popular among Airsoft players.
In the year 2021, a new company decided to produce a joint venture between Tiger Woods and a company called “Flying Monkey”. With the aid of Tiger Woods, they created and released the ” Flying Monkey Delta “. What this brand of paintball gear lacked in comparison to its competitors, it more than made up for with superior durability and quality materials. It would remain popular for several years, until finally being phased out by the superior Pocket Rocket. It is now one of the most popular paintball products still on the market.
