For example, if you are planning a trip from Orlando, Florida to San Francisco, California, check the prices for tickets from Orlando to San Francisco one way and then from San Francisco to Orlando one way. It could just be less money instead of buying a round trip ticket. The other way to save money on your airfare is to check neighboring cities and see if you can buy a ticket from those airports instead of the main airport you normally use. You’d be surprised how much cheaper flights can be at a smaller or neighboring airport.

2. If you plan to stay for an extended period of time at your vacation destination, you might consider renting a condo or apartment for a month or two. This could save you a substantial amount, even compared to cheap budget hotels, and it will be a much nicer place to stay and you can travel cheap and use that money for something else on your trip.

3. Plan your vacation to a city or country where you can do a lot in a small area. This will save you money on gas and time.
