Instructions on how to train a dog

I have been around dogs for as long as I can remember. My family is a dog-loving family. Even my little sister and father who have asthma love to hug and kiss our dogs. I know, that’s pretty amazing, huh? However, as I have observed, as much as my mother always petted them, there was always time for training. Cleanliness around the house was very important, so everyone, including the dogs that come in, must know how to keep it clean.

Puppies should be house trained between 8 and 12 weeks of age. This is a perfect time for any breed. Puppies behave like babies: they desert all the time. At first, a dog may not know when and where to poop. So it’s his job to watch, watch for sniffing cues or intense staring around him, these may be signs that the dog is about to do “his thing.” Immediately take the dog outside, preferably through the same door, so he can get acquainted with you. And next time, he knows that he needs to sit by the door if he has to go.

In the end, your dog will learn. But be patient, this can take time. You can easily give up, but that may not be the best thing to do. It is never easy to train a dog, you do not have the same language. Therefore, knowing how they behave helps a lot. And if you are successful, you and your family will have a partner for life, who will be there to have fun.

Here are some tips, which I have collected from people who have trained their dogs:

1. Alternate your voice during training. It may not always work to use your usual playful tone. Use a deep voice when giving a command, teaching your dog that low tones mean business.

2. If you catch your dog “in the act” doing something wrong inside the house. He say “no,” then pick him up and place him outside. Remember to only scold your dog when you see him, not after 10 minutes, a dog will not remember what he has done and will be confused as to why he was scolded.

3. Provide a permanent place to defecate. Be firm in your training. When you say something today, that should always be known. To allow your dog to focus on his command.

Again, if you want to know how to housetrain a dog, all you need is patience. After all, having a well-trained dog is better than having to clean up your dog’s poop every time.
