Legal Law

Is the law of attraction pure chance?

Is the Law of Attraction just coincidence? Luck? Chance? After all, imagine that you have been looking for gold. You’ve been at this for years and then one day you find a great nugget that sets you up for life.

It is said that the Universe takes its time to give you what you want most from life. Couldn’t it be, then, that all your hard work is starting to pay off, simply because you’ve been sticking around for all these years? Maybe sheer luck. You are new to prospecting for gold and on your first morning outing, you find this big nugget.

Chance? This is an interesting word. It was first coined by Horace Walpole in 1754 and comes from a fairy tale ‘The Three Princes of Serendip’. As Walpole put it, “they were always making discoveries, by accident and sagacity, of things they were not looking for.” Serendip, by the way, is the old name for Ceylon.

Well, really, no. It is none of those things. It is a planned and intense relationship with the Universe, not so much for ‘things’, but for a lifestyle that you want in particular. We are all different, so in the lifestyle you decide, the one that will give you the most pleasure and satisfaction, money may not play a part. And it really is a lifestyle you seek. Simply saying ‘I want a million dollars, a great new car and a mansion’ is not the wisest choice. Remember the maintenance of the mansion. The kind of problems associated with a big house.

No, you must choose your lifestyle very, very carefully. There was a man who invoked the Law of Attraction for a particular position in the company he worked for. He had wanted this position for years, and when he learned about the Law of Attraction, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to studying it. And lo and behold, a few weeks later, the position became his. Unfortunately, by then, he preferred to abandon the idea, but his desire to ascend from him had become a way of life for him.

Therefore, extreme care must be taken in choosing your lifestyle. After true and wise consideration, you finally decide on your goals. Keep this vision before you at all times, but let it go. You have asked the Universe to fulfill your wishes, now let the Universe do its work. Don’t sit around, imagining the Universe sitting across the table from you, and say; ‘Now look, Universe, I’ve told you what I want. I expect you to deliver by noon two weeks from now, and this is how you do it. You will discover that the Universe is wiser than you, and will deliver it in due time. You are the Child. The Universe is the Father.

One of the most difficult aspects of the Law is getting rid of the baggage you have been carrying all these years. You may have had a nasty childhood, where no one ever cheered you on, but you were much more likely to be called an idiot. This was drilled into your head, day after day, and it is very difficult to shake these horrible memories. It must be done though, or else you’ll be dealing with the Law of Detraction.

You must have had some successes in your life, however small. Focus on these. Remember how you felt when you got that promotion, when you scored the winning goal, when for once someone patted you on the shoulder and said ‘well done’. Focus on these moments and let go of the rest of the misery.

It’s easy to say, but they were just words, and words have wings to fly both to you and to you.
